Collaboration between GP Bioscience and Procognia in the Glycodiagnostics Field - 15/09/2009
As part of an intensification of its activities, and an acceleration of its development processes in the field of glycodiagnostics, Procognia announces that it has expanded its existing agreement with the Japanese company GP Biosciences, whereupon the two companies will combine their development efforts in the field of glycodiagnostics. Procognia will develop the diagnostic kits that are based on its intellectual property (the company has recently applied for a comprehensive patent in this area), and GP Biosciences will contribute its scanner to the development effort, as it is exponentially more sensitive than those utilized by Procognia at present. This collaboration will enable the detection of changes in glycome structure present in biomarkers that appear in patients with various cancers in minute concentrations, thereby enhancing Procognia's overall glycodiagnostic capabilities.
